Aging, sun damage, pregnancy and weight fluctuations as well as genetics can cause poor skin and tissue elasticity, resulting in unappealing sagging. Contact Georgetown Plastic Surgery today about a body lift for a firmer, more youthful body contour. Serving the greater Georgetown area, our team’s number one goal is to help you be the best you possible.

How does a body lift work?

A body lift, or belt lipectomy, removes excess skin and tissue that persists on the body from significant weight loss or weight fluctuations, pregnancy, and simple aging. Dr. Staebel will begin by cutting away excess skin and then uses liposuction to dissolve unwanted fat from target areas of the body such as the belly, hips, back, buttocks and thighs. A body lift can improve the shape and tone of the underlying tissue that supports fat and skin and can also improve a dimpled, irregular skin surface, commonly known as cellulite.

What benefits can I expect from a body lift?

A fit body with a smooth silhouette is often a result of a healthy diet and exercise but unfortunately, they cannot do anything to remedy loose, sagging skin and uneven contours. A body lift by Georgetown Plastic Surgery can improve the shape and tone of:
• The abdominal area and around into the lower back area
• Your posterior, if it is low, flat or shaped unevenly
• A groin that sags into the inner thigh
• Your thighs, including the inner, outer, and posterior thigh

Am I a good candidate for a body lift?

Before you decide to undergo body lift surgery, your weight must be relatively stable. Women considering future pregnancies should postpone an abdominal body lift since pregnancy may diminish the results. You are a suitable candidate for body lift surgery if:
• You have significant soft tissue looseness in one or multiple body areas
• You are healthy without medical conditions that can impair healing or increase risk of surgery
• You do not smoke
• You maintain a positive outlook and realistic goals for what body lift surgery can accomplish

As with all cosmetic procedures, the most important thing is to have realistic expectations of your results. During an initial consultation with Dr. Staebel, you will discuss your medical history and your goals for seeking a body lift. Georgetown Plastic Surgery professionals are very skilled and have an excellent safety record with stunning results. Call us at 512-686-1650 for a consultation.
